Level 2 Coach Qualification
This is the full coaching qualification. When you pass this course, you can run beginner archery sessions on your own, design training programmes, and develop archers from complete beginners to intermediate level.
You must have completed Level 1 or have equivalent experience assisting in coaching sessions. This course builds on that foundation and teaches you to be the lead coach.

What Level 2 Lets You Do
Level 2 qualifies you as a full archery coach. You can run beginner sessions independently, coach groups of up to 12 new archers, and take responsibility for session safety.
You will also learn how to design session plans, identify and correct technique problems, and help archers progress from beginner to intermediate level.
This is the standard coaching qualification recognised by most clubs. If you want to coach at other clubs or become a senior coach, Level 2 is what you need.
Who Can Take This Course
- Level 1 Coach Assistants ready to progress
- Experienced archers with at least two years of assisting experience
- Club members who have supported at least 20 beginner sessions
- Anyone aged 18 or over
You must hold a current Level 1 qualification or provide evidence of equivalent experience. You also need to be a club member, have a DBS check, safeguarding certificate, and first aid qualification.
How the Training Works
Training is delivered by a Level 3 coach through a mix of online modules and in-house visits to your club. This gives you flexibility while ensuring you get proper hands-on guidance.
- 20 hours of online learning at your own pace
- 3 in-house training days with a Level 3 mentor
- 20 hours of supervised coaching practice at your club
- Final assessment by a Level 3 coach
The online modules cover theory, technique analysis, and programme design. The in-house visits focus on practical coaching skills, session delivery, and giving feedback. Your Level 3 mentor will observe you coaching and provide detailed feedback.
